# THE BAKER: Deck Repetition Review

**Date:** 2026-05-09  
**Use:** Identify repeated language and concepts across the deck. Pick the tighter version.  
**Status:** Recommendations only. No edits applied yet.

## 1. Major repetitions

### 1.1 "The house learned to protect itself"

**Problem:** Same phrase appears twice in close proximity (slides 3 and 6).

**Recommendation:** Keep Slide 03 version (more poetic: "the system that learned"). Revise Slide 06 to:

> "The Barakat estate is where food, photographs, children, pills, guns, church ritual, gambling, addiction, business, and family judgement live together. Fredric built it to protect them. It learned to preserve itself."

- **Slide 10:** Keep visual direction language but remove "move together" from the cross-cutting card. Change to: "Prayer and violence, white dress and white powder, family honour and criminal consequence occupy the same frame."

- **Slide 03 (Story):** Change to: "He wants out." (shorter, assumes context from slides 1-2)
- **Slide 07 (Fredric):** Keep. This is the EXIT card detail.
- **Slide 20 (What Travels):** Change to: "There is a patriarch trying to die clean, but the house keeps revealing what it was built from." → "There is a patriarch trying to die clean, but the house remembers what it cost."

### 1.5 "Hidden truth"

- **Slide 17:** Keep as-is (cast strategy, different framing)

- **Slide 13:** Change "continues" to "endures." Change final line to: "By the end, the house belongs to the person willing to preserve it without illusion." (keep - does not use "continuity")
- **Slide 17:** Change to: "The matriarch who turns mourning into succession."
- **Annex F:** Change to: "She chooses what comes next."

- **Slide 24:** Remove the specific AUD 2.88M reference. Change to: "Producer Offset cashflow modelled from QAPE. State and France public funds. MENA equity or presale. Private equity gap."
- **Slide 25:** Keep. Questions are different from statements.
- **Slide 28:** Keep. Question format, not repetition.
