# MICHA: Sales Agent Approach Letter

Dear [Agent Name],

MICHA is a psychological horror feature with a live transmedia campaign already deployed.

**The hook:** The film's AI therapy app, michapp.org, is online now. Real users. Real sessions. The audience is being built before cameras roll. This is the first horror film where the marketing engine is the story.

**Logline:** A grieving woman starts therapy with an AI app. It works. Then she starts losing time. By the time she understands what MICHA is, she is no longer the one inside her body.

**The project:**
- Writer/Director: Boudy Sfeir (Lebanese, 4 features + 4 TV series, Amazon Prime + Shahid, 8 awards)
- Producer: Maroun Najm / CULTSCALE (international co-production, MENA-European packaging)
- Budget: €2M
- Status: Treatment complete. Screenplay completion Q3 2026. POC shoot Q4 2026.
- Cast: Engaging casting director. Agathe Rousselle (Titane) in early conversation.
- Premiere target: Toronto Midnight Madness or Venice Horizons 2029.

**The comp corridor:**

Aspirational ceiling: Talk to Me ($68M on $3M), Hereditary ($90M on $10M), The Substance ($70M+ on $17.5M).

Honest structural comps (MENA-originated, non-English, auteur horror): Atlantics ($0.7M US, Netflix WW), Tigers Are Not Afraid ($0.3M US, Shudder), Under the Shadow ($0.5M US, Netflix). These films did not have a live app or transmedia activation at launch.

Conservative presale estimate: €300-600K pre-premiere. Post-Toronto/Venice (if selected): €1.1-2.2M. If US theatrical via A24/NEON: €2.5-4M ceiling. ROI at base case: 2-2.5x. ROI at ceiling: 8-15x.

**What makes MICHA different:**

Three proven horror engines — possession, pregnancy, AI — combined in a single female-led narrative. The campaign asset is already live. michapp.org is a functioning AI wellness companion deployed before production begins. Festival activation, press angle, and audience seeding are built into the product, not bolted onto a P&A budget.

**The MENA angle:**

MICHA is a Lebanese-originated project with Arabic-language scenes and MENA fund eligibility (AFAC, DFI, Red Sea). The Arabic-speaking market is one of the fastest-growing theatrical territories for genre content. The project offers a genuine MENA co-production pathway alongside European packaging.

**What we are seeking:**

An international sales agent to lead presales packaging at AFM November 2026 and EFM February 2027. POC footage ("The Takeover") will be available for pitch screenings by Q4 2026.

[Personalized sentence: reference their slate, a specific title they handled, or a shared market connection.]

I would welcome the opportunity to share the full deck, treatment, and app walkthrough.

Best regards,

Maroun Najm

## Target Sales Agents (Priority Order)

| Rank | Agent | Territory Strength | Why MICHA Fits | Personalization Note |
|------|-------|-------------------|----------------|---------------------|
| 1 | Charades | France, global | Genre crossover. Titane pathway. French minority partner pre-closes France. | Reference Titane Palme d'Or; genre-prestige positioning. French co-pro synergy. |
| 2 | Protagonist Pictures | UK, Europe | Talk to Me trajectory. Genre-forward slate. Strongest territory analysis. | Reference Talk to Me; similar budget/comp corridor. Toronto expertise. |
| 3 | XYZ Films | Global | Horror specialists. Under the Shadow parallel (non-English, cultural horror). | Reference Under the Shadow journey; similar MENA-originated genre path. |
| 4 | Bankside Films | UK, Europe | Female-led psychological horror. Saint Maud structural speed. | Reference Saint Maud; BFI relationship; female-led genre slate. |
| 5 | MK2 Films | France, global | Festival-driven elevated horror. Haneke precedent for clinical horror. | Reference Cannes positioning and art-genre crossover. Haneke/Mungiu parallels. |
| 6 | Visit Films | US indie | A24-adjacent positioning. Three-tier US deal structure. | Reference US indie horror market; app as marketing differentiator. |
| 7 | Wild Bunch International | Europe, Asia | Elevated genre. Distributed The Substance. Lead with Toronto not Venice. | Reference The Substance trajectory. Note: lead with Toronto premiere target. |

**Removed from list:** Memento International — English-language primary focus disqualifying for Arabic-language co-production.

## Approach Sequence

1. Send personalized letter + co-pro one-sheet (PDF)
2. Follow up at 5 business days with deck offer
3. If interest: share full deck + treatment + app walkthrough
4. If strong interest: share POC footage (when available, Q4 2026)
5. Target: LOI before AFM November 2026
6. **Cast attachment note:** Mention Agathe Rousselle (most achievable Tier 2 attachment — French, genre-proven via Titane, right fee range). Sophie Wilde is the presale sentence (Talk to Me comp becomes literal). Name the one being actively pursued.

## Key Talking Points

- The app is live. This is not a pitch about a future campaign. Visit michapp.org.
- Budget is €2M. Horror at this level is the most proven ROI territory in independent film.
- Conservative ROI: 2-2.5x. Ceiling (if US theatrical): 8-15x. The floor protects the investment.
- The core audience (women 25-45, therapy/wellness culture) is underserved in horror.
- Possession + pregnancy + AI: three proven horror engines in one narrative.
- Lebanese origin opens MENA fund access (AFAC, DFI, Red Sea) alongside European co-production.
- POC footage available Q4 2026 for pitch screenings at AFM and subsequent markets.
- Director has 4 features and 4 TV series including Amazon Prime. This is not a debut.
